Text Box: PATHs

English

In literacy this week we will be playing a variety of literacy games, concentrating on drama, and speaking and listening activities. To help at home you could go to this website about Shakespeare, which links into our Tudor topic. http://www.folger.edu/template.cfm?cid=1228

Arabic

This week we are going to revise the work we have covered and read stories. We will also look at letters with short and long vowels on the board, and will do acting and play games.

Maths

In numeracy this week we will be playing a variety of numeracy games covering work we have done this year. To help at home please make a game, of any type (i.e. board, memory, card, domino etc) based on the times tables that we can play in class. You could also play countdown on this website http://www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/maths/countdown/index.htm

Science, History & Geography

In science this week we will be looking at conductors of heat. An experiment sheet will be sent home for your child to do, involving putting a wooden, plastic and metal spoons (although it can be anything of that material) in hot and cold water to see how they feel. They will need to predict whether it will feel hot, warm, cool or cold and then test it by feeling them. You may also like to measure the temperature of the top of the spoon with a thermometer.
