The new PA (called FRIENDS of AAESS) would
like to bring parents and children closer together by organizing
events such as picnics in the parks, coffee mornings/afternoons,
trips to the zoo or malls or just inviting people round to
houses. This can be easily done through a ‘contacts’
network. This is simply a mum or dad who collects contact
details for parents in a particular class (not year group). The
contact mum or dad then compiles this list and distributes it to
all the parents who were willing in that class. The contact
mum/dad then arranges trips, picnics, get-togethers, mums night
out.
This is an opportunity for parents and children to see each
other more often socially.
How can you get
involved?
If you are willing to become a contact mum or dad for your
class, Please contact with Natalie Le Seelleur at FRIENDS who is
co-ordinating this project. She, along with year group leaders,
will tell you what you need to do and will also help you at the
beginning.
What is
involved?
Collecting names and contact numbers for your class and
arranging / organising events by sending out a short note
inviting families to meet outside school for fun.
The Friends of Al Ain English Speaking School (FoS) aims to work
alongside the Al Ain English Speaking School to complement and
enrich students’ experience at the School. It intends to do this
by organising and supporting social, community, and fund-raising
events (for the School as well as for charity) both within the
School and the larger community, as well as by providing
opportunities for parents to participate in and contribute to
school life.
Objectives:
-
To welcome newcomers
to the School and the Al Ain community
-
To establish a
network of contact parents for each year group/class,
whereby students and parents can get together for different
events and activities outside school
-
To organise social
and fundraising activities/events for the School as well as
charity (NB. Any monies raised to be spent at the discretion
of the FoS – with input from parents).
-
To involve parents in
supporting the School.
