Al Ain English Speaking School

Secondary School

Welcome to the Secondary School

AAESS is a privately owned ‘not for profit’ school. It was set up by seven local and international companies in 1978. The rationale was to provide an appropriate standard of education of expatriate employers, to ensure they would not be socially or academically disadvantaged when they returned to their home countries.

The original model chosen was that of a British system school and that policy has continued to the present although also recognising that we can be flexible and draw on best practice from other education systems.
Children can be admitted to the Nursery classes at the age of 3 (by September 1st) and continue, in Secondary, to take A level examinations at age 18.

Our teachers come mainly from the UK, New Zealand, South Africa and Australia. Colleagues are encouraged to share the best practice from respective educational systems and participate in regular professional development opportunities.

Our school offers the UK national curriculum and is licensed by the Department for Education in the UK and registered with the local Al Ain Educational Zone on behalf of the UAE Ministry of Education. We offer examinations from Edexcel and Cambridge International Examination boards.

Al Ain English Speaking School is a member of the BSME association (British Schools in the Middle East) and is supported by SSAT (Specialist Schools and Academies Trust).
