AAESS Alums is now on facebook

The AAESS alumni group was created in September 2011. The group grew steadily within the first month and to date contains 710 members. The members consist mostly of past students and teachers. Current students have also joined. The group provides an opportunity for past students to update the school on where they are in the world and what their current pursuits are. Current students are motivated when they read about the many accomplishments of our past students and many senior students have been motivated to become more ambitious in their career choices as a result. It is amazing to think that what started as a small school in Al Ain has produced such a wealth of diverse, successful individuals.

Some members in the group were students at the school 25 years ago. Amongst the members is a US councilor, a published author, cutting edge scientists and students who have passed through many prestigious universities in the USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and South Africa.

We hope that membership continues to grow and intend to use the alumni to arrange reunions for students passing through Al Ain.


Former Students
I was a student at AAESS under Headmaster Crawford from 1984-1990. My parents both worked at the hospital, Tawam which then transferred into Whittaker. I moved to Springfield, Missouri (USA) where I finished my high school education (A-levels equivalent) and joined the US Military. I spent the next 4 years stationed in Harrogate, England. I then moved back to Springfield and completed my college education at Drury University receiving a BS in Biology and a BS in Environmental Science. I spent a brief time teaching biology before I was hired on to an engineering firm as an environmental scientist. Although I am still employed by the firm I have simultaneously developed a political career and have been elected to the Counselor of Springfield, Missouri. Our city encompasses approximately 180,000 people with a metro area approaching 500,000. I am married to my beautiful wife, Natalie and we have just welcomed our first born son.
