Haitham Elias Mourany, DMD, MS, ABO, NBO

Dr. Mourany is a Diplomat of the
National Board of Orthodontics, U.S and the American Board
of Orthodontics. He and his family settled in Al Ain 14
years ago, bringing with him wealth of knowledge and
experience from a cosmopolitan environment. He was involved
in full time practice of Orthodontics in Cleaveland, Ohio
and was a Faculty Member of Orthodontics at the
Case Western Reserve University, Ohio
before moving to the UAE. He has also served the
TAWAM Hospital for 6 years including the post of Director
for Dental Services Department prior to establishing his own
center. In addition to his commitments as Director/Owner of
his centers, he is also currently maintaining his practice
limited to Orthodontics and Craniofacial Pain Management.
Being an investor in the country, Dr. Mourany believes in
the potential of its people and has high hopes for the
future. Aside from the good reputation he has earned with
the success of his businesses, his commitment to the growth
of AAESS will always be his pride and glory. He is a firm
believer that, “Education is the
transmission of civilization”. He aspires to
extend significant contributions to the community of Al Ain
by ensuring quality education is provided to its children
through the Al Ain English Speaking School.
Jon Orthman
- Vice Chairman
Jon has lived in Al Ain for 17 years,
has 4 children in the school and is involved in a number of
community organizations. He has a B.S. in Mathematics
Education, an M.S. in Mathematics, is a graduate of the
Chair Academy for Educational Leadership and is currently
pursuing a Doctorate in Mathematics Education. He has 17
years teaching experience at the middle school, high school
and tertiary levels and 7 years experience in educational
management. He currently works with the Higher Colleges of
Technology as Chair of the Foundations Programs.
Dr. Salem Abdul
Rahman Al Darmaki
- Board Member
Dr. Darmaki has
obtained his PHD in Sociology and Social Policy and Health
from Durham University-United Kingdom and BA in Public
Administration and Communications from UAE University- Al
Ain. He currently works for the Ministry of Health as the
Assistant Undersecretary of Finance and Administration
Affairs. Prior to that, he has also served Al Ain Medical
District, Tawam Hospital and Al Ain Municipality as
Assistant Undersecretary – District Director, Hospital
Director and Office Manager of Undersecretary respectively.
Over 22 years of experience in strategic planning,
leadership, teamwork, finance and administration within
health care field. Demonstrated ability to investigate plus
finding the right solutions for different corporate issues.
Kamal Nasser -
Board Member
Kamal Nasser is a
Professor of Accounting and Finance. He is currently the
Vice Chancellor of Al Ain University of Science and
Technology, Dean of College of Business Administration and
the Director of the MBA program. Before coming to UAE, he
taught in University of Wales (UK), University of Birmingham
(UK), Birzeit University (Palestine), Qatar University
(Qatar), American University of Beirut (AUB) (Lebanon),
Higher Institute of Business Administration (HIBA) (Syria),
Kuwait Maastricht Business School (Kuwait), Academy of
Higher Education (Libya). He published more than 50 research
in international academic journals and he is currently
serving on editorial boards and acts as a regular reviewer
to a number of international journals. he is the author of
Creative Financial Accounting: Its nature and Use, published
by Prentice Hall International.

Jean Witthoft
- Board Member
Jean is working at
the Higher Colleges of Technology as a Chair of the Diploma
Programs. She has been involved in education for the past 19
years at the tertiary and secondary level and has experience
teaching in a British Curriculum school (St Christopher’s
School, Bahrain). She is currently pursuing a Doctorate
degree in Educational Leadership and has an MBA. Jean joined
the Board as she has both a personal and professional
interest in school improvement as a parent and as a member
of the community.
Jeanette Hillman
- Board Member
Jeanette
is the Quality Improvement and HR Manager at Al Noor
Hospital. She brings with her 25 years experience in
leadership and management in the non-profit sector in
America. She has a Masters Degree in Counseling and a
Masters Degree in Education from the University of Georgia.
Her son, Josh, spent four years at AAESS where she developed
an interest in the school and a desire to see it flourish as
a respected school in our community.
